SYRIAN REFUGEE FUND

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’            Acts 20:35

As millions of Syrians continue to be displaced due to conflict in their home country, the Government of Canada is working with Canadians, including private sponsors, non-governmental organizations, provincial, territorial and municipal governments to welcome 25,000 Syrian refugees.  A number of United Churches in Niagara are working to sponsor Syrian families and to assist them in starting a new life here in Canada.  St. Davids-Queenston United Church is pledging to raise $5,000.00 by Dec. 31, 2015 to donate to St. Andrews United Church in Niagara Falls, who are working to sponsor one family.  The Syrian Refugee Fund has been established to reach this goal.  Donate what you can.  It is more blessed to give than to receive.

To make a donation, you can either drop off a cheque at the church, give your donation to our church secretary.  Please make your cheque payable to St. Davids-Queenston United Church and write "Syrian Refugee Fund" in the Memo area.  You can also use our On-line giving tool by clicking on the Donate Now icon below.
