St. Davids-Queenston United Church is committed to adhering to Provincial and Niagara Region Public Health guidelines. In-person worshiping returned on August 22, 2021, with a number of physical modifications to the church building. On Oct 25th, the Ontario government announced that places of worship may lift capacity limits and physical distancing requirements, if they choose to require proof of vaccination. At the Church Board meeting on November 16th, the Church Board accepted a recommendation from our Resumption of In-person Worship Committee to implement a proof of vaccination policy for our church effective November 28th. By implementing this new policy, we were able to remove capacity limits within the Sanctuary. Further, this meant that attendees would no longer be required to pre-register to attend our weekly Worship Services. On December 17th, in response to the rapidly-spreading and highly transmissible Omicron variant, the Ontario government applied additional public health and workplace safety measures, including capacity and social gathering limits. On Dec 21st, the Church Board reimposed capacity limits in the Sanctury. Masks are still mandatory, and attendees continue to be screened for symptoms and for contact tracing. The Ontario government has now paused its Reopening Ontario Plan until further notice.
